Intensive training

It has been nearly a week since my last entry...I've just been really, really lazy. :P Well to summarize what happened last week...all I remember is intensive basketball training. INTENSIVE. We played for about 3 hours on Thursday, almost 5 hours on Friday, and about 3 hours on Saturday...talk about ACHING! By Saturday morning we were aching all over. I'm getting rather excited about the game though. I think these training sessions are helping very much, but I feel that I still have a lot of learn...and improve! I fumble pretty often, and my dribbling is not very stable, and I can't really aim when I try to throw the ball into the hoop. *sniff* But I vow to improve!!! Cheer me on now!!!

Basketball!

I did it! I just blew 42 big bucks on a pair of shoes...basketball shoes. All together now..."Hui Nee plays basketball???" [insert tone of disbelief here] Ahem. Well, I don't play very well at all, but a bunch of us girls have formed a team to play at the Midwest Games 2005 in May. I think it's going to be a great experience, especially since a few of us are leaving after the summer. *sob* It will be an awesome "bonding" activity. :)

Anyway...here's something cool about buying shoes from Foot Locker (that's where I ordered mine): If you see something you like on www.footlocker.com and you don't want to pay shipping and handling, you can go to the store and ask them to order it for you! That way you don't have to pay S+H, and they ship it right to your house! Best thing is, if you need to return the shoes, you can just bring it back to the store, you don't have to ship it back! Plus you can ask the salesperson to help you pick out the right size of shoes, a luxury that you would not have if you shopped online.

Well, enough advertistment for Foot Locker, hehe. :) *Yawn* Cheers to another rainy, gloomy day in Lincoln, NE!

Niceeeeeeeee weathuh! (read nice weather)

Ahhh...bright sunshine (but not too bright)...warm breeze...occassionaly you can take a good deep breath and enjoy the whiff of greens and...(sadly) dust and concrete. *sigh* The roads around area where my apartment is are under contruction at the moment. Apparently Vine Street needs to be widened...or something. Whatever it is...it is freakin' annoying!!! I can't even turn out into Vine Street from 23rd Street (where my apartment is at) now, and it really irks me because it makes going grocery-shopping a pain in the you-know-where. But anyway...I'm still grateful for the great weather today, hopefully it will last through tomorrow. ;)

Another day another day...

*yawn* silence... *yawn* *yawn* ... *yawn* That's all I've been doing for the past couple of hours. I have a headache and I've been yawning my head off...but I'm still procrastinating and refusing to take a shower yet...why? I have no idea. I'm sure I'm not the only one who'd experienced this right? Dead tired, but still your eyes are glued to the computer screen and your fingers are still flying over the keyboard typing away on MSN Messenger as if your life depends on it. Oh internet, what will I do without it... ;) If there's anything that I'm going to miss when (if) I go back to Malaysia, it's the broadband internet connection here...sure sure...Malaysia has broadband too...(what's it called again?)...but I really doubt anyone in Malaysia leaves their computer on the whole day with MSN Messenger signed in all the time. I honestly can't imagine my mum allowing that...haha.

ANYwaaay...today I had to go back to the office at 8pm to make a phonecall to Taiwan. My boss wanted to buy some stuff from this company in Taiwan but the people over there answered the phone in Mandarin, so he needed someone to call for him. It was really funny...the lady at the other end kept telling me, "Hang on, hang on, I'm on MSN talking to a customer..." I was like...what the [beep]?!

Well, my eyes are starting to water...I think I've spent like, what, 9 hours today in front of the computer? Enough is enough...!!! Please somebody tear me away from my laptop!!!

Thoughts...

I've been reading a lot of other people's blogs lately...and realised that many people seem to have A LOT of deep thoughts about life everyday. Needless to say, I'm IMPRESSED...and intrigued. Why do these people think so deeply about everything? Is it because they're complicated beings...or are their lives just complicated? And WHERE on earth do they find all that time to simmer in those thoughts? Then that made me sit down and evaluate myself...how come I'm not like that? Am I too shallow? Is it because I only skim through life at the surface? Or am I just less mentally-developed than other people? Come to think of it...I believe I used to think more when I was younger...my mind was filled with weird, funny thoughts and dreams...but now as I've grown older, I find myself getting more and more realistic, and I tend to take life as it is and not give it too much thought so that I won't be disappointed. Sad, I guess...

Well, heck, if I go on any longer I'd be just like those people wouldn't I? Hahaha...
