In California!

After nearly 7 hours of flight and waiting, I finally arrived in Irvine, California! :D I was so anxious the entire day because it has been more than four months since I last saw Kai Wen. Finally, as I descended down the escalators at the Santa Ana John Wayne airport, I spotted Kai Wen standing amongst the crowd of people waiting at the bottom of the escalators. It is so good to see him again!! :D

Right now I'm at Kai Wen's workplace doing my assignments (trying to, anyway). We met up with one of his housemates, Jacelyn, at her workplace and had a quick tour through the facilities. After that we went to Bento King to have lunch. The service was quick, and the food was delicious! It is by no means anything fancy, but I haven't had anything so Chinese for so long!

Later tonight Kai Wen's boss is going to treat us to dinner (yum!), then after that we'll be meeting up with Sze Min at her place (or somewhere near). It's so fun! :D Heh heh heh~

Food poisoning!

Have you had this experience before...feeling perfectly fine one minute and worshipping the toilet bowl (I learned this phrase from Kai Wen, haha) the next? That's what happened to me on Thursday night! And I threw up not once but thrice! It was awful! Then I went to sleep, and woke up in the middle of the night with a fever. The next morning I woke up still with a fever, so I skipped classes and headed to the Health Center with a friend (thank you Chong Ee!!!) and spent 2 and a half hours there. They took 4 bottles of blood from me (both arms also kena), and finally the doctor said he "thinks" it's food poisoning. So anyway, he said I was only supposde to eat bananas, rice, apple sauce, and toast for the next couple of days. I was like, what??? Apple sauce was fine, but rice? Rice with what, bananas? So anyway, my friend Su Hoon (thank you, muaks!) came over and cooked chicken porridge for me on yesterday evening. I can't describe how touched I felt! So many friends showed such kindness, it just makes me feel that being sick is not so bad after all! :D
