The death of our snowman

Sin Yee came home today and I wanted to show her our snowman whose birth I so carefully documented last night. So we went out to the balcony, and just as I was pointing proudly to it, a guy approached the snowman with a shovel, and before I could even properly introduce him to Sin Yee, the guy just started whacking our snowman with the shovel! Sin Yee and I just stared at the gory scene with our mouths hanging open. The idiot from hell completely destroyed our beloved snowman, then laughed and went back to his car, which was packed with a few other mentally challenged young men like himself.

I'm enraged! FURIOUS!!! At first I was just sad (for a split second I felt like bursting into tears), then I started feeling angry...and started to think of various ways I would like to see those guys die. I HATE THOSE PEOPLE!!! I hope our snowman visits them tonight and strangles them!

BIG snowman!!!

It snowed and snowed today...and we have LOTS of snow! At 8pm today, Ryan, Chi Min, Alvin, and I went out to the side of our apartment building and built a snowman!

Below is the making of our beloved snowman:

1) Roll up a BIG snowball.

Ryan and Chi Min rolling up the snowball. It's rather heavy!

2) Roll up a second, smaller snowball, and stack it up on the big one.

Alvin, Chi Min, and Ryan stands proudly around the half-finished snowman. At this point we were still having some debates regarding its gender. (Ahem)

3) Pat the snow to make it firm and round.

Chi Min, Ryan, and me .

4) Put on the eyes and nose.

Chi Min carefully performing delicate plastic surgery on the snowman's right eye, which was nearly destroyed by Alvin (tsk tsk).

5) Finally! It is done, and we stand proudly with our lovely snowman!

Isn't the snowman big and tall??

Our proud snowman.

My poor snowman

Just yesterday I posted a picture of my beloved mini snowman...and today it snowed so heavily that *sniff* it's now completely (well, almost) covered in snow! :(

Snowman

This is my fourth year in Lincoln and yet I've never made a snowman before. Today, I finally had the chance to make one (albeit a mini version)! Sin Yee and I went out to our balcony and made a snowman on our table. The snow was wet and easy to pack, the perfect texture for making snowmen! :D Below is a picture of our snowman, proudly sporting peanuts as eyes, dried chilli (which crumbled to bits in the process of being "planted" on the snowman's face) as a nose, and a pair of sturdy plastic forks as hands.

Our proud snowman and its cuddlly companion

Running after time

Before I could say "Winter Break!", Spring Break has rushed by. Many times I wake up in the morning and groan, "Is it March already??". For some mysterious reason, time seems to fly this semester. A blink of an eye, it's 4pm and almost time to pack up. It's insane.

This is like a familiar childhood dream...you run and run and run but you can never catch up with the person in front of you. In this case, the person in front of me is time. But really, sometimes it's not so much of "I don't have enough time to do this and that"...it's more like, "I have time on my hands but I don't want to use it to do this and that", which is worse. When I should be doing homework, what do I do? Read novels online. When I should be researching, what do I do? I check my email...and the list goes on. I don't know why I'm so...lazy...or is it...unmotivated? Why?? It's frustrating, and scary. I know, I know, I need self discipline...but heck, there's nothing to motivate me to discipline myself! Woe is me.

Malaysian Night 2006

Finally...the big day came and went...it seemed like not long ago we were just starting to prepare for it. Now, it's nothing but a memory!
